Artists, groups and organisations with creative ideas for projects in the City of Melbourne are being encouraged to apply for a City of Melbourne Annual Arts Grant. Applications for the 2014 Arts Grants are open from 6 May – 17 June and new ideas from all art forms are welcome.
There are two funding categories:
The Arts Projects category is open to artists, organisations and community agencies, working in any art form or practice.
The Indigenous Arts category is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists, organisations and community agencies for arts projects and activities in any art form or practice.
Successful applicants are required to deliver their project in the City of Melbourne municipality within the 2014 calendar year. Funding of up to $20,000 per recipient is available, and all applications are assessed by an external panel and endorsed by Council.

"City of Sydney and Carbon Arts are inviting proposals for a temporary public artwork that engages with data on Sydney’s progress towards Sustainable Sydney 2030
This public art commission is part of Sensing Sydney: communicating sustainability through the arts, open data and public space, a City of Sydney and Carbon Arts project which aims to bring historic and real time data alive in ways that celebrate our collective efforts to address environmental challenges.
We are interested in the different pathways for creative use of data and technology to engage the public in an active dialogue on environmental issues and citizen-engaged action."
Arts House expressions of interest for Season 1, 2014 opened on Monday 15 April 2013. The EOI form will be available from 15 April and will close Friday 31 May 2013.
Each year Arts House invites artists to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for financial and in-kind venue and marketing support for either presentations or developments (CultureLAB), at any of the Arts House venues – North Melbourne Town Hall, Warehouse and Meat Market.
Support usually consists of a contribution of up to $12,000 for a CultureLAB (including in-kind venue support) and a maximum of $30,000 (including in-kind venue support) for presentations.
I’m influenced by contemporary issues and interested in questioning everyday patterns by intervening and provoking alternative forms of discourse.
