Liveable and Sustainable in Fed Square

30/7/2013

Set up a piece in Federation Square as part of the Liveable and Sustainable Exhibition group show. A BIG space with movement, colour and action...so my little piece seemed a bit lost amongst it all.

Went back today and it looked Ok..seemed to have settled into the space and people were commenting on how it was the only sculpture in the exhibition.

Pieces by award winning photo journalist Andrew Brownbill are the highlight of the show.  Worth a look if you at in CBD this week.

This time last year I was immersed in a study tour in Germany with VCA students, and I desparately need another fix...so a few sites and images to re-inspire.

Genießen !! (enjoy)
StreetArt In Germany is such a fun site, and really captures what it says...https://www.facebook.com/StreetArtGermany?fref=ts
Monocle24 is the coolest, hippest thing to come out of the UK since...ummm.
It has a film section and Art In Berlin was a recent feature....it shows a serious and grown up side on Berlin

Interested in what happened to all artwork looted during WW2?Recently the spotlight has fallen on the incredible and sustained effort to track and reclaim collections.

Callout- Non Profit Online Contemporary Art Gallery ...EoI

4/7/2013

A group is  starting a non-profit online contemporary art gallery which aims to support creative industries and individuals. It is a way to encourage people to buy contemporary art who may not be directly involved in the 'art scene'. Therefore, we intend to connect artists with collectors via a platform which is accessible to all people and is not intimidating. The more interest we get, the more this project will be able to develop and flourish!

The gallery avoids pretentiousness and exclusivity within the arts. We will alongside artists to help build their careers, exhibit & sell their work and encourage them to keep creating. The gallery also seeks to be welcoming to new collectors and those interested in getting involved in the arts.

We would like to have all the initial artists info by the 15th of July so we can officially launch the website, so the sooner you can get in contact with us, the better!

Please contact Fleur or Alex for more information

I’m influenced by contemporary issues and interested in questioning everyday patterns by intervening and provoking alternative forms of discourse.

I hope that my artworks assist to transition a viewer to make connections between disparate ideas and give a different perspective on something they are already aware of.

Above all I value the awake, curious and creative mind that cross pollinates ideas to join the dots and build new ideas.
